Flossing needs to be done once every day. It
is important
to floss because your toothbrush can't get everywhere
in your mouth. If you learn how to floss correctly, you
can get all those tiny spots your toothbrush misses and
make your teeth super clean. If you're just learning how
to floss, ask your parents or dentist to show you how
to do it right.

Get
a good grip on your dental floss. Use a piece of
floss about 18 inches long, and wrap the ends around
your middle fingers, leaving about 2 inches between them.
 |
 |
Using
your thumbs and forefingers, slowly work the floss in
between the spaces where teeth touch. Be careful you don’t
snap the floss against your gums.
 |
 |
Curve
the floss around each tooth in a “C” shape and gently move it up
and down the sides of each tooth, including under the gumline.
 |
 |
Use
a new section of floss for each tooth.
