Early Care
The best time to begin is even before the first tooth arrives.

Many parents think baby teeth need less care because they're not permanent. In fact, the more you care for your child's smile now, the more protected it will stay long into adulthood.

Helpful Tips:
  • Schedule a dental appointment for your baby at your pediatrician's recommendation—usually by the first birthday—and every six months thereafter.
  • Help your child brush twice a day with a flouride toothpaste starting at age two, and being flossing as soon as two teeth touch.
  • Require children who play sports to wear a mouth guard to protect their smile.
